Knotted Crown Braid
Step by Step
Step 1. Rough Dry
Rough dry your hair to 100 percent dry using the Featherweight Compact. Rough dry your hair to 100 percent dry.
Step 2. Section
Starting with a middle part, take a 2″ section of hair at the top of the crown of your head and divide it in half horizontally. Then loop one section over and through the other to form a knot. Tie the knot tightly so it’s secure before moving on to the next one.
Step 3. Knot
Add a small amount of hair to each of the two tails, like you would with a French braid. Then knot the two sections together similarly to Step 2. Repeat adding hair to the tails and tying them together in a knot all the way down until you reach the nape of your neck.
Step 4. Finish Knots
Once you’ve reached the nape of your neck, continue tying knots with the two tails without adding in extra hair all the way down the ends of the strands. Then, secure the ends with an elastic band, and repeat on the other side of your head.
Step 5. Pin
Once the other knotted braid is done, take the tail of the right braid and tuck it underneath the left. Pin into place with bobby pins until the tail is no longer visible.
Step 6. Repeat Pin
Take the tail of the left braid and tuck it underneath the right just behind your ear. Pin the tail into place with bobby pins until it is no longer visible.
Step 7. Wave
Add effortless waves to the face-framing pieces using the Loose Waves Barrel from the Convertible Collection.
